“Israeli attacks continued on villages in the Tyre and Bint Jbeil districts from Sunday night until Monday morning, when warplanes targeted a building in the city of Tyre near the Al-Jawad restaurant, killing three civilians,” reported Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA).

“Striking the remaining neighborhoods of Tyre is an attack on history, heritage, and collective memory. Cities that have stood for thousands of years cannot have their legacy erased by a missile,” Pheebo, a woman from southern Lebanon, said through her account on the X platform.

The Israeli assault took place in the Raml neighborhood of Tyre, where the number of dead and injured is expected to rise as emergency teams work to remove debris in search of missing persons. Meanwhile, the Israeli army issued an evacuation order for broader areas of Tyre in southern Lebanon.

Al Jazeera reported that nine people were killed and many others wounded as a result of an Israeli attack on the coastal city of Sidon in southern Lebanon.

Lebanese Information Minister Ziad Makary condemned recent Israeli attacks on journalists and media facilities in Hasbaya in southern Lebanon and in the Al-Awza’i region, which resulted in the deaths of photographers Wissam and Ghassan Najjar and technician Muhammad Reda.

“Repeated Israeli attacks on the media constitute documented war crimes that require Israel to be held accountable and punished for them, as they undermine the foundations of free journalism, most importantly the safety of journalists and the free flow of information,” Makary said.

Since the beginning of the Israeli offensive against Lebanon, the Lebanese Health Ministry has recorded 2,672 deaths and 12,468 injured.
